First you should know that i would not leave my guinea pig outside for more then a couple hours and it would not be the only cage, i have another cage for indoor use. Heres a picture something simliar to what I want http://www.aracnet.com/~seagull/Guineas/images/hutch.jpg

I would make an open bottom so my cavy can eat grass and maybe add a second level.

  2. most importantly make sure the cage is secure from outside predators, neighborhood cats, foxes, coyotes, whatever... and that your little guys can't get out. If mine got outside and got away I'd be devastated.

As for the cage. Home depot has everything you need.

If you only wnat to give it run around time, just get some grids and make a play pen.

  3. You can make them a great indoor one like this http://www.guineapigcages.com/

And put them outdoors for supervised grazing when the weather is nice.

  4. not a good idea to keep guinea pigs outside, too many heat shifts and weather changes, not good for health.

  5. That seems fine, just go to the pet shop and buy it a plastic house where it can hide when it wants to.

Also maybe you could buy it some bark as they like to play in it.
