  1. I make a simple cloth bag (two pieces of fabric, say 4x6 inches, placed right sides together, straight line stitch around 3 sides with the machine) or use lace or even tulle.  I strip the lavender from the stalk and add extender (I think it is called orrow root) along with the lavender and either sew the open end by hand or tie the bag closed with a ribbon.  The extender takes on the scent of the lavender and makes it so that you can use less and still get the maximum scent.

  2. I got an idea from Martha Stewart and have done it almost every year since.  Just take some fabric you may have around, or buy some remnants.  Cut the fabric into 4 inch squares.  Sew them up on 3 sides.  Put lavender in the little bag you've made and sew up the fourth side.  It doesn't really matter what kind of fabric you use, but it should be a tight enough weave so that bits of the lavender flowers don't fall out.  You can put these little squares amongst your linens, but what I really like to use them for is....I throw them in the clothes dryer while my linens are drying.  This scents the linen all through it as it is drying.  I like to make a bunch of these easy projects, tie 3 or 4 together with a pretty ribbon, and give them as gifts for Xmas when the scent of summer lavender is really welcome.  Good luck.

  3. I am not going for best answer here, because the others beat me to it! They are right, you can do a lot with a pretty little sache' ! So since they beat me to it...

I recently just learned that lavender is like a common flavor for teas, desserts and other foods, and they make lavender sugar, it's more common in other coutries like Britain, so that is something else you could do with your extra lavender, look up fun recipes!

Lavender is my favorite scent, one day I hope to be able to have a large amount in a garden too! Good luck makin' the sache'!
