How do you make a list hide except on mouse over

I run a games website. my games page is frames. the top is an add, the bottom right is the game and the left is a list of all the games. i want the list to shrink when it is not in use, to make the game bigger. then extend over the top of everything. i want it to look like those adds that say rollover, then they extend on mouse over. is there any way of doing that.

First of all, I'd drop the frames - nasty and very very old-skool.

Then take a look at jQuery.js - lot's of this kind of show/hide functionality built in - and lots of additional plug-ins available such as ad rotation.
