How do you make a mattress softer without spending any money?

I looked up that question but everyone said to buy a mattress pad thing but I don't want to spend my money on one.

  1. if you have a quilt or extra blankets that you don't use ,lay them on top of the mattress and use an extra fitted sheet to keep them in place.


  2. Well, do you have an old comforter that you aren't using?  You can use that as a mattress pad.  For more softness, use more comforters.


  3. Cut it open, rip out some of the springs, and fill the entire thing with batting.

    You might want to consider there not being a very good option without spending money.

  5. Well, if you are talking about just the mattress, I would suggest just flipping the mattress over onto the other side about once a month.

  6. Brooke if you don't want to spend money sew to old sheets together and fill with dried leaves, wheat straw, or dried grass clippings.  Wheat straw in times past was most common bedding used.
