  1. That is a Nero image file.  You will need Nero (or a program that reads Nero image .nrg files) to get it to work right, and it might need to be burned to a disc as from what I understand, .nrg files are only temporary files that are stored for items to be burned.


  2. The .nrg file is a proprietary type of disc archive format similar to the ISO file format and is used by Nero Cd burning software. You'll need to have Nero or Nero Express installed in order use it. To use the file you have to select the option that allows you to create a data disc. In there you should have the option to use the .nrg file to create a disc. You just navigate to the location of the file and take it from there.

    If you don't have Nero, there MAY be free software out there that may be able to use this format to burn discs. I'll look around a bit.

    In the meantime, here's a link that shows you how to convert your .nrg file into a an ISO.. Practically all free burner software can use the ISO file format.
