  1. I've made many pinatas, but what i usually find most useful is first making a paper mache skeleton. To do that: get a balloon, blow it up to a wanted size, rip up newspaper, dip them in a paper mache paste, and wrap them around the balloon. Put on many layers, and then do the same except with white paper (printer paper would do fine). Wait until it drys then pop the inside balloon. you can cut a small flap out of the round mold and put as much candy inside or any other party favor. Then, close up the hole by putting the piece cut out back on and pasting more paper onto the same spot. (make sure this part is really stable and hard or else that point will become weak and able to break)

Last: Paint the outside a decorative color for festivity!

    have fun!

    To make the paste:

Use a simple mixture of flour and water. Mix one part flour with about 2 parts of water until you get a consistency like thick glue. Add more water or flour as necessary. Mix well to get out all the bumps. Add a few tablespoons of salt to help prevent mold!

  2. i did one in art class, and it took me about 3-4 weeks to make, but that was with about 2 hours a week, so 6-8.

There are different ways to do it, and i'll explain the way i did mine first.

    Here's what you'll need:

Balloon, Elmers glue, Container, scissors, any color tissue paper you will need, tape, newspaper, different cardboard type things like egg cartons and cereal boxes.

So what you do is blow up the ballon about how big you want the body of your pinata to be.  Then take cut up peices of newspaper (about 1"X1", and you'll need a lot of them) and plaster them onto the balloon by sticking it on, and smoothing it you with fingers you dipped in glue. Do about 2 layers of this on the balloon.  It is kinda like paper mache.  Now add appendages by forming them with the cardboard material, taping them on, and covering it with the glue and newspaper.  For instance, i made a bird, so i made the wings out of card board, the head out of a ball of newspaper, and the beak out of a square of cardboard i folded in half diagonally.  Now for the tissue paper part.  Take a sheet of whatever color you need and cut strips of it about an inch thick.  Cut slits into it so it looks sort of like a row of grass.  To apply, dip a finger in the little glue container, and smooth a TINY bit of glue onto the uncut part of the tissue paper.  Do NOT use to much, or the tissue paper will stick to you.  Keep cutting tissue paper and sticking it on until the whole thing is covered in tissue paper.  And a tip for applying it, layer it evenly and work upwards.

For a pinata that does not have a circular body, Use the same materials and techniques as last time, except make the body by plastering sheets of cardboard together in a cube, rectangular prism, or whatever shape you made it in.

Good luck and I hope this will help!

  3. newspaper, glue, paint, a broom stick, candy and patience.

  4. You can buy the box thing at iParty and then fill it up with candy or anything you like. But if you wanna make one from scratch by yourself, it won't be a very easy thing to do.

  5. Get a stuffed animal and put candies in it and hang it on a string from the ceiling and hit it with a stick.

  6. first i make the shape with cardboard. then i use frayed strips of tissue paper with different colors and glue it on the cardboard. its pretty easy.
