How do you make a poptart

Question

I want to make homemade poptarts for my birthday party but I dont know how, oh and how do you stuff them?

3/4 cup shortening

3/4 cup sugar

3 eggs

3 3/4 cups flour

3 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup fruit preserves

FROSTING

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla

2 tbs milk

Food coloring (optional)

Mix together the cream shortening and sugar. Add in the eggs, one at a time. Sift the flour and baking powder together and then add to your mixture. When it is soft, it is done. Chill for 1 hr.

On a floured surface, use your roller to flatten out the dough and then make 12 rectangles 8 x 12 inches. Spread one tablespoon of preserves over half of each rectangle, then fold the other half over the preserves. Crimp the tart closed with a fork.

Place tarts on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 20 min. Let cool.

Mix vanilla, milk, and powdered sugar and optional food coloring, until you have a thin frosting. Spread the frosting over the tarts and enjoy.
