How do you make a "print screen" on a Mac computer?

It's called print screen on regular PCs, but I recently got a Mac and don't know how to do it on here!

  1. press the command, then shift, and the 3 key all at one (as if you were pressing control/alt/delete on a pc). the picture will appear in an icon on your desktop and double click on it to see it! good luck~


  2. command-shift-3: capture screen to file

    command-fn-shift-3: capture screen to clipboard

    command-shift-4: capture selection to file

    command-fn-shift-4: capture selection to keyboard

  3. Press Shift+CMd+3 to get a full screen snapshot.

    If you press Shift+Cmd+4, you will get a crosshair with which you can select an area of a screen. Pressing the spacebar while on this screen will change the icon to a camera and highlight an area of your screen. Use this to get a pic of a window, the menu bar, the dock, etc.
