How do you make a radio work better?

Question

I want to listen to my radio(I haven't in ages). I have a good radio because its on a nice 5-Disk CD Changer/AM/FM radio...IS there any way i'd be able to pick up stations better?

A better antenna will help.  But most AM radios come with a built-in ferrite antenna, which can't be easily augmented -- although you can turn the radio for best reception.  For FM, if there are terminals on the back to connect an external antenna, do so.  In a high signal area, a folded dipole will do; if you are out in the country, a rooftop antenna will do better.
