    Sunrise smoothie

    1 cup chopped ripe strawberries (5 large strawberries)

    1 cup chopped seeded watermelon

    1 cup chopped fresh peach

    1 cup raspberry sorbet

    1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

    Pina Colada

    1 cup fresh pineapple chunks

    1 cup unsweetened coconut milk

    1 banana

    1/4 cup ice cubes

    2 teaspoons honey, optional

    Pineapple wedges, for garnish

    Papya Bananan Smoothie

    1 cup milk

    1/4 cup Greek yogurt

    1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

    1 small ripe banana, peeled and sliced

    1/2 large, ripe papaya, peeled, seeded and chopped

    1 cup ice cubes

    Tropical Smoothie

    1/2 ripe mango, peeled and seeded

    1/2 ripe papaya, peeled and seeded

    1 ripe banana

    1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

    1/2 cup skim milk

    1/4 cup nonfat yogurt

    1 teaspoon good honey

    2 cups ice

    -juice it up

    -jamba juice

  2. The basic chemistry behind making smoothie is that proteins act with acids to thicken them.

    The basic source for protein is Yogurt. You can stir in added soya or whey protein.

    For acid, you normally use fruits, such as blue berries. You can also add banana as a thickener.

    The basic recipe

    Ingredients

    1. Ice cubes: 1 Cup

    2. Yogurt: 1 Cup

    3. Fruits 1/2 cup

    It could be half banana, and half blueberry or strawberry etc

    4. Sweetener: optional.

    Process

    1. Makes sure all the ingredients are cold. Basically, the fruits and yogurt must be refrigerated for 2 hours

    2. Place all the ingredients in an electric blender or a food processor. Process

    You can add up to 2 Tablespoons of Whey or Soya protein to yogurt to increase protein value. You may add a teaspoon of lemon juice to add extra acid.

    1 small strawberry yogurt

    1 cup of frozen blackberries

    1 cup of frozen sliced and sweetened strawberries

    Ice

    You can substitute the kinds of yogurt and fruit to make different flavors.

    Mango smoothie recipes are better with real fruit!

    Ingredients:

    1 large mango diced and chilled

    1 banana

    1/2 cup of yogurt

    1 cup of orange juice

    6 ice cubes

    Directions:

    Blend the orange juice, yogurt and banana till well mixed. Next add the ice cubes and mango and continue blending till mango is mixed in. Enjoy or chill if desired.
