My family bought a INTEX 15' by 42" This is our first time having a pool. We don't want to put chlorine into it, instead, we want to make a salt pool. Do I need a special salt filter? Or do I just buy a bag of salt and dump it? I need some help with this...PLEASE!!

  1. You cannot have a pool without some form of Chlorine. Salt pools typically have a device that converts the salt into Chlorine.

I use an Ozone system in my pool that drastically reduces the amount of chlorine required. The Ozone machine requires salt water and I do that by dumping the required amount of salt into the pool. It is almost maintenance free.

  2. Save your money and run your pool as a chlorine pool and avoid all the hassle of the salty cousin of the chlorine pool.  You will be much happier you did.

    You're welcome!!

  3. All salt water pools have a salt chlorine generator that produces chlorine from the salt. Pretty much any filter will work. Most generators require a salt level of 3000ppm.
