Im writing a story and I've gotten to a part where one of my characters get hit, but I can't seem to find a suitable sound to match the occasion. Here's what im talking about.

Character A walks away, and Character B slaps Character A across the face, Character A makes a surprised sound.

Thats the part im stuck on, I can't seem to find an appropriate sound to place after that part (I plan to put the sound in quotes on the next line). Ahh, or Agh doesn't work. Anyone got any suggestions?

  1. URFF!

    NGH!

    GEH!

  2. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH is usually a scream in writing. I don't know if a person would scream after being slapped in the face.

  3. aaaaaggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    just double up the words

    like this

    okaaaaaaayyyyyyyy?

  4. Try making your character gasp instead. That's more realistic. People usually don't scream when they're slapped in teh face - they don't have enough time to react.

  5. oh nooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, for the love of goddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd, why would you do thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. that doesn't feel good at alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll...
