Well, if anything, your computer should have already come with some type of movie making program. The most common, in Windows (XP and Vista), would be Windows Movie Maker. It may not be the best software you can get, but for what you want to do, this is the perfect and simplest way to make a slideshow.

You simply open the files you want to put into the slideshow and start going. And as you wanted, you can also insert an audio file--maybe even multiple ones if you would like. Once you open the program it's very easy to work. There is a step-by-step process in the side panel suggesting ideas and even "cool" filters for your slideshow.

I dont  think you can.   First of all slide films are taken single frame and are shown single frame at a time.   A roll of slide film does not usually have a sound track...but if it did you would have to buy a slide projector that will pick up the sound files to produce the sound wave.
