How do you make a slinky?

okay, I have a budget of $15 and I need to build my own slinky. Does anybody know how to build one using only wire? Even if you know where I can get materials in Adelaide, Australia. That would be great!!

A slinky is essentially a very weak spring. With springs they use special metal that doesn't bend easily and returns to its original shape. Wire normally bends easily but doesn't make a very good spring as it stretches and doesn't go back to its original shape.

I don't want to be nasty but I really think it is better to buy one ready made. The cool things to make is pill capsules with metal balls in that flip over down an incline.
