  1. I agree with previous: no ice - just frozen fruit.  and yoghurt or soy/milk for protein if you want.  My favourite breakfast smoothie:

    1/2 c. frozen strawberries/mixed berries (that I cut & froze myself)

    1 fresh, ripe banana

1/2 c. yoghurt or vanilla soymilk

    1/2 any other fresh fruit

    1/2 tsp. cinnamon

plus a Tbsp. of wheatgerm or almond butter...   and maybe some honey if the fruit isn't super sweet.

Or: the other day, I had a bunch of fresh pineapple; I blended that up with some coconut sorbet and a little limeade...  it was really good. (even without any rum)

basically no ice - just some sort of frozen fruit element.  :)

  2. well me and my friend have done it with and without ice.

you use any fruit that sounds tasty to you, and then if you choose to use ice, I'd combine it with either ice cream or yogurt.

Yogurt will make it have a thick texture to it, where as ice cream might be a little more like a fruity milkshake.

try to crush your ice first so its easier on your blender (if you use ice)

as far as the order of things? pretty much put them in however you want to :)

you could use actual recipes but just throwing fruit into a blender works just as well. (and there are actually a lot o different kinds of smoothies, not only fruit, they have coffee and some others, but for those i'd look for recipes.)

oh, and ive never actually used frozen fruit, but either way works :)

  3. There are a lot of different ways. For my favorite smoothie, I use a frozen banana, strawberries & orange juice (I don't use ice.)  The banana doesn't have to be frozen but it's better if it is. The thickness depends on how much juice you use.

  4. you can use any fruit  to make a smoothie i use banana apple and pear with a touch of cinamin its fab! just put the ice in with your fruit  and your ready to go

  5. oh, there is a world of smoothie wonder awaiting you! I rarely use ice, but i like to freeze fruits, like peeled bananas and strawberries. Add an indie-size thing of yogurt for smooth consistency. My fav: frozen strawberries, frozen banana, peeled sections of one orange (remove casings), vanilla yogurt.  Perfect breakfast. Or try papaya and banana and honey and yogurt. Throw in some oatmeal for a more filling smoothie. Try frozen pinapple and mint!  Or pineapple, ginger, and yogurt!  The possibilities are endless!

  6. you can add any type of fruit some yogurt or and milk anything that you think will taste good together and just blend them all together. or find a recipe on www.foodnetwork.com

  7. it really doesn't matter. i like to put the ice first, then the fruit (if using fresh). you don't really need ice if you're using frozen fruit unless you want it extra thick. for the liquid, i use lowfat milk.

  8. I make mine with plain yogurt and frozen strawberries or blueberries and a banana. And what ever sweetener that you want honey or whatever.

  9. Many ways.  I use plain yogurt w banana, peaches or pears, OJ, blueberries or strawberries.  Plus I add a whey protein powder.  I add ice after its done.

  10. put ice and fruit in a blender...

    WAHLA!

  11. You may use any fruit. Papaya, mango, strawberry, banana, all particularly good. Put the fruit in with the ice, and blend a bit, half way through, add some yogurt which will make it richer and creamier.
