How do you make a treasure map that is not S***y.?

i did every thing cool, the the tea crape,ripped the edges,set the edges on fire and crumbled the paper up but i don't want it to be S***y.

My idea would be to use some vellum type material from your local crafts store. Choose something heavy enough to not disintegrate when wet. Sort of like a very thin leather. If the vellum is not the color you want just put the material in a dish/pan with water and 5 - 6 tea bags they will "tea stain" the vellum making it look old. You can be creative for other markings/aging etc but vellum will be best. (tip roll it up while still wet and let dry)
