How do you make a vase? How do you add color to it?

e.g. clay and glaze.

Or you could use an old bottle or jar (if necessary cut a part off to make a wider opening) and paint it with glass paints.

If you want to use it with fresh flowers it needs to be impermeable to water, but otherwise there aren't any limitation to your imagination.
