me and my friend are starting a animal supply shop online andat are homes but... we dont know how to make and onine website so can someone please give me a link that will let me create my own where i can sell stuff one!!! thanks

My name is Melinda and I have had a successful home business for a while now. I decided to get together with my self-employed friends and family and create a free website to help others start their own business (and avoid scams).

You may create your own website from scratch or create an "eBay store" and sell all your goods through eBay.

eBay Store:

Pros:

- eBay stores are easier to set up and maintain

- they take care of the payment before items are to shipped

- your buyers con pre-vetted (you can check their feedback if you want)

- you can profile your eBay store on your own website if you want

- you store is well marketed by eBay (generally eBay products are near the top of Google and other search engine results)

Cons:

- they charge you a fee for every transaction and a monthly store fee

- you have less control over the appear and function of your store

Your own website:

Pros:

- complete control over your website

- you can add services, ads and affiliate links to make more money from your own site

Cons:

- a lot of work

- need to find secure payment services

- need to find ways to guard your website against hackers, etc...

- harder to market

BTW - Whatever you do - try not to limit yourself to one income source - one of the best ways to grow your small business is to open yourself up to other income streams. For example you could also sell related products on your site or provide related services. This approach has been invaluable to me - allowing me to get through slowdowns in my "core" business.
