How do you make beaded browbands?

I really like those pretty beaded browbands, but the problem is I want to make one for an auction, and don't have a partern and such in mind, or how the heck you sew them on??? Please answer

  1. People usually don't sew them on cause leather is tough. Most people use glue to glue the bead on try a hot glue gun .


  2. I would buy a cheap bridle or see if you can find a brow band of some sort; probably at any tack shop. Then make a long string of beads (would have to be super small beads) and you could put little dots if super glue all over the brow band and then wrap the string of beads around the brow band. I think that would be cute. I don't know what kind of beaded brow bands you are quite talking about though.

  3. You do your bead work on a loom and then use glue to attach the beaded strip to the leather.

    I like the stuff they use to glue on shoe sloes. It is weather proof and will stay flexible. You do have to be somewhat careful as it can discolor white beads somewhat.

    It is a sort of yellow. Barge Cement is what I use on mine.

    They can be sewed onto a piece of thin lining leather and then you can glue the lining leather on to the browband. This will prevent the beads from becomming discolored. Be sure to use only the very thin leather. You want as little as possible between the leather and the beads.
