How do you make boiled broccoli?

I know.. stupid question, but this is my first time ever making any.

I was thinking I just put the broccoli into boiling water and let it there for a couple of minutes..

But, is that pretty much all I have to do?

its best if it's steamed, but if you must boil it put it in boiling water for about 2 min. until it turns bright green, if you are going to eat it later you should put it in ice water bath to stopit from cooking further

yes .....  But I think it's best (and easiest) to put the florets in a scant 1/4" water in a dish; cover with waxed paper, and microwave about 2 min.  Just until it turns bright green and is still crisp.....

not putting the broccolli  in the water. but place it in a plate or something (that don't break in heat) above the water.
