How do you make a pan of butterscotch rice crispy treats? Do you just make them normal, but when you melt the marshmellows you also melt the butterscotch and mix it with the marshmellows?

Please help me! If any of you know a website with a recipe for it please provide a link for me!!

  2. exctly make normal add brsctch

  3. recipezaar has some good recipes for this. You would just melt the butterscotch chips with marshmallow cream and whatever else is on the label and do it that way. As if it were being made with the choco chips.

    sorry! Yahoo says when I put the complete website in it is "solicitation" and I get zapped for it.

  4. I have used three ways:

    1.  melt the chips in with the marshmallows.  No change in basic recipe just add the chips to melt in the mix.

    2.  add the chips to the mix when you are mixing the cereal with the marshmallow mixture.  The results will be chips in the bars.

    3.  melt the chips and spread them on the top of the rice krispy treats like a frosting.

    Do you need the basic recipe?

    First put 6 cups of Rice Krispies into a large bowl, and set aside.  Melt 3 tablespoons of margarine in a large pot on medium heat.  Add one bag of mini marshmallows - 4 cups.  (You could use large marshmallows or a 7 oz jar of marshmallow creme.)  Stir to make sure it does not burn.  After the marshmallows have melted, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla.  (Here is where you can add the butterscotch chips in.  I would use about half a bag - about 1 or 1 1/2 cups of chips.)  Stir the marshmallow mixture into the cereal, coating all.  Spoon into a well buttered (I use PAM) 9 x 13 pan.  Cool and let set.  Cut into desired size bars.

    These are great treats and everybody loves them.  Good luck!

  5. When Ive had them the butterscotch "chips"were add along with the rice crispies and left whole...but I don't think it would make any difference if they were melted with the Marsh mellow cream...

  6. My favorite recipe is called Scotcheroos:

    Ingredients

        * 1 cup sugar

        * 1 cup light corn syrup

        * 1 cup peanut butter

        * 6 cups Rice Krispies

        * 1/2 cup chocolate chips

        * 1 1/2 cups butterscotch chips

        * butter (for greasing pan)

    Directions

       1. In a large saucepan, combine sugar and corn syrup. Heat just until bubbly (Don’t boil or the bars become a little hard).

       2. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter. Stir until well blended, then gently stir in cereal.

       3. Press mixture lightly into buttered 9 x 13 pan.

       4. Combine chocolate and butterscotch chips and melt in microwave or double boiler.

       5. Immediately spread over bars in pan.

       6. Refrigerate just until chocolate sets and hardens slightly.

       7. Cut in squares. Makes 3 to 4 dozen bars.

    YUMMY!
