  1. I buy a can of Borden's Eagle Brand Milk. Put, it in a pot do not cover it all the way with water. Open, the can. Bring to a boil, simmer for about 2 hour to 3 hours. And it turns into pure carmel. Just like the carmel squares you can buy in the store.

  2. CARAMEL CANDY

    3 c. brown sugar

    2 c. light corn syrup

    1 c. butter

    3/4 c. sweetened condensed milk

    1/2 tsp. vanilla

    Candy thermometer

    Heavy saucepan

    Wooden spoon

Do not attempt on a humid day.

Combine sugar, corn syrup, butter and condensed milk in heavy pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils. Continue cooking to 248 degrees stirring now and then to prevent scorching.

Remove from heat add vanilla.   Pour into 9 x 13 buttered pan. When firm cut and wrap in waxed paper squares. Store in refrigerator.

    CARAMEL CANDY

    2 c. white sugar

    1/2 c. white karo

    1 c. cream

    4 tbsp. butter

    1 tsp. vanilla

    1/2 c. milk

Boil to soft ball stage. Butter a square cake pan. Pour caramel in pan and let harden, then cut in squares.

hope this helps.                good luck and enjoy.
