Question:

How do you make good catnip tea?

I've been growing catnip very successfully for a few years, and I have recently learned all the benefits of catnip tea. I do not want to buy catnip tea bags or dried catnip, but I am interested in making it myself, from fresh picked catnip.

Do you have a recipe for freshly picked catnip tea, or failing that, a good method of drying the leaves, and then using those for tea? Thanks!

  1. These might not be the best--but I have never tried catnip tea so I just searched the net.  The first one--I think has drying the leaves.  Good Luck.

  2. My family is from Tennessee and are true herbal users;

    My aunt takes all the leaves from one plant,not more than 4-6 in inheight,takes about 2 cups water and throws the leaves and stems in the water lets it boil til it's light green skims off the plant and just add sugar to taste( This has a natural sedative) so PLEASE do not use  more than one cup or 4 oz for a cholic baby,it'll keep you on the toilet.

    some people use lemon juice along with the plant, too tart for me.
