  1. run to italy... get some ice, bring it home

no, just blend ice, and throw some italian syrup in it.

technically thats not "authentic", authentic would be the syrup/water/fruit blended, and frozen into ice and then blended again... blended and put into a batch ice cream freezer.

  2. GRENATA, ITALIAN ICE

To 2 cups water add 1 cup sugar and do not stir after the sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil and boil 5 minutes exactly. Add 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (or other juice, espresso, etc.). Freeze in cubes (it never gets really hard), then mash cubes with a potato masher and serve in sherbet glasses. Genuine Italian ice has large crystals, rather like a snow cone.

  3. Get fresh fruit, cook in water, to cover the fruit, add sugar, for each cup of fruit, one half cup of sugar if the fruit is sweet, if the fruit is sour one full cup of sugar, cook for 15 minutes then blend, after this, remove  the seeds with that thing that I don't know the name and then put in the frigde, to make ice next day blend again and serve inmediatly.

    enjoy

  4. You're question has got me making a run to get a Rita's... then when I get back, maybe I'll learn to make my own Italian Ice.  "Be cool eat a Ritas.." 8D
