  1. 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules or base

    1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

    3/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning

1/3 cup. diced Canadian bacon or smoked ham

2 to 3 carrots, thinly sliced

    2 ribs celery, thinly sliced

    1 small onion, thinly sliced

    1/4 cup. water

1 broiler-fryer chicken (about 3 pounds), cut up

1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cheddar cheese soup

    1 tablespoon all purpose flour

1 (16 oz.) pkg. wide egg noodles, cooked and drained

    2 tablespoons sliced pimento

    2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheesePreparation:

In a small bowl, combine chicken bouillon or base, chopped parsley, and poultry seasoning; set aside.

In slow cooker, layer Canadian bacon or ham, carrots, celery and onion. Add water.

Remove skin and excess fat from chicken; rinse and pat dry. Place half the chicken in slow cooker. Sprinkle with half of the reserved seasoning mixture. Top with remaining chicken and sprinkle with remaining seasoning mixture. Stir soup and flour together amd spoon over the chicken; do not stir.

Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 to 3 1/2 hours or on low for 6 to 8 hours, or until chicken is tender and juices from chicken run clear when cut along the bone and vegetables are tender.

Put hot cooked noodles in a shallow 2 to 2 1/2 quart broiler proof serving dish. Arrange chicken over the noodles. Stir soup mixture and vegetables in crockpot until blended. Spoon vegetables and some of the liquid over chicken. Sprinkle with sliced pimiento and Parmesan cheese.

Broil 4 to 6 inches from heat source for 5 to 8 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Garnish with parsley sprig if desired.

Alpine chicken recipe serves 4 to 6.

  2. Crock-pot slow cooker? Simply put everything in the pot to cook in the morning & add some more water to it before you go out to work. You can come home to a good hot meal later, there are timers or heat selectors on some crock-pots, just set them to low heat for the number of hours to cook.

    Chicken Soup :

1 small or 1/2 a large chicken (washed, salted & cut)

    50g  turnip (thin stripes)

30g /2-3pcs water chestnuts (peeled, or smashed)

4-5 pcs dried red dates (pitted) or 1/2 tablespoon wolfberries

    1 tablespoon salt

1/2 teaspoon msg (optional) or add more salt to taste, or substitude with 1 small lump of rock sugar

    water to fill the pot

Slow cooking crock-pot needs at least 2-3 hours (high setting) to cook, conventional cooking method requires 1/2 that time. You can boil & shred the chicken meat if you prefer (use the same water for soup), but put the bones in a bag to cook so that it's easier to remove later. This is a clear soup that goes well with macoroni, shell pasta or steamed rice.

  3. Cut your chicken into pieces. Dice your vegetables. Put in crock pot with salt pepper and any other seasoning you fancy - simmer until chicken falling off the bone. Leave to cool.Pick out bones then  Put in the liquidiser and blend,  Reheat and serve.

You can omit mixed vegetables and add cream after blending for cream of chicken soup.

  4. Put your chicken in the crock-pot with chicken broth, cut up celery, carrots and whatever other vegetables you want. When everything is cooked, put in whatever type of noodles you want and cook them.

I use rice and if you want to do that, put the uncooked rice in with the chicken and veggies.

  5. A crockpot chicken noodle soup, with chicken, onions, carrots, celery, and noodles.

    Ingredients:

    2 1/2 to 3 1/2 pounds chicken pieces

    4 cups water

    4 cups chicken broth

    1 teaspoon seasoned salt

1 teaspoon salt, or to taste, depending on saltiness of broth

    1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 leek or small onion chopped

    1 carrot, chopped

    2 stalks celery, chopped

    1/4 cup parsley, chopped

1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram or basil

    1 bay leaf

    6 ounces noodles

    Preparation:

Place all ingredients except noodles in the Crock Pot. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours. Remove chicken and bay leaf from pot; take meat from bones, dice, and return to broth, and add the noodles. Cook another hour or until noodles are done (about 1/2 hour on high). Or, cook the noodles separately and add them just before serving
