  1. I agree with bubbles, but with me, i would just omit the sugar. My formula, is an economic one.

    1/2 cup cornstarch

    1quart water

combine water and cornstarch together in a saucepan. bring to boil, keep stirring until lumpy pudding smooth. then let it cool down before using.  You can get a box of cornstarch for about $1 to $1.50 Good Luck!!!

  2. Don't use flour and water. Flour is a food product and can spoil. I usually use Elmers glue all and mix it with water. I don't usually go 50/50. I use a little less water than that because I like it a little thicker myself. But it dries clear and the paper mache is hard and durable.

Good luck.  I love paper mache!

  3. I use craft glue, but not full strength.  I thin it down, about 50/50, with water.

  4. Yeah I used to use cornstarch and water and boiled them together until I got a thick consistency :o

  5. It could be flour and water.

  6. Follow the info from 'Bubbles', but, add strips of paper to the mixture to begin with.

  7. smooth, light paste that's easy to work with. To make it, combine 1/2 cup all-purpose flour and 2 cups cold water in a bowl. Add this mixture to a saucepan of 2 cups boiling water and bring it to a boil again. Remove from the heat and stir in 3 tablespoons of sugar. Let it cool; it will thicken as it cools. Once it does, it's ready to use.
