  1. Play Dough  just like the real thing.  The cream of tartar is very important as a stabilizer.  I made this for my grandson a couple months ago, it's still good.

  2. pretty sure it something to do with flour water and food coloring

  3. Things You’ll Need:

    1 C Flour

    1/4 C Salt

    1/3 C Water

    1 tsp Vegetable Oil

    Food Coloring (optional)

    Measuring Cups/Spoons

    Mixing Bowl

    Your Hands!

    Step1

Combine flour, salt and oil in a bowl. Gently mix together.

    Step2

If you want colored playdough, add 2 to 3 drops of food coloring to 1/3 cup of water, otherwise use plain water. Gradually add water to dry ingredients, mixing with your fingers until smooth.

    Step3

Knead the dough with your hands until smooth and pliable (about 3 to 5 minutes).

    Step4

Return to step one and start over to make another color! Or, play with the dough right now. :)

  4. you can add peanut butter and turn it into an edible playdough that taste good..

  5. The best play dough is one that is cooked--it is softer and stays softer longer than ones that aren't cooked.  I don't have the exact recipe at my fingertips but generally you cook flour, salt, vegetable oil, water and coloring until a thick ball is formed. Then turn it onto waxed paper and knead it.

Do a search for cooked play dough recipes and you'll find tons! Some call for kool aid or spices to give a great scent.
