I'm not sure how to make it exactly, but I know that making kumis requires dairy products like milk (traditionally, mare's milk), yeast (or champagne yeast), and depending on the recipe and variations, honey and other ingredients. You might be hard-pressed to make it yourself, so I would try looking online for somewhere to order it.  

    Also, I think that kumis is actually a traditional Russian drink, but I might be wrong on that. Just thought I'd add that for possible clarity. :)
