How do you make money if you own a website?

I really don't understand how come people make money out of their personal webiste. can you guys explain?

A website is just a place to transact business.  If you don't have a good business, it doesn't matter where it is.  Most good businesses don't start with the place.  Most start with a problem.

Well link sales,affiliates,ppc etc...

But a simple way of makg money on the internet is gpt but the problem is there are lots of scam sites that dont pay you so most people dont even bother searching for a paying one.
