I live in a s****. rich area. And when you say or do one stupid thing, you're labeled for life. I'm going to be a freshman at high school and I don't have any friends in my classes and I really want to make so new friends. I don't want to be stupid and say "Oh I love your skirt!" and then they'll say "I hate it. I got it at a g*y store."

And at lunch, how do you sit with a group of people you don't know? If you sit with a group where I live, and they don't know you. They'll look at you weird. Here, you REALLY need to start off on the good foot.

What should I do?!

  1. be random, and always be urself dont try to act a different way because u think it will help u fit in.

  2. I think you're stereotyping the area you live in way too much. Just because the area is full of people who have money doesn't mean that everyone is going to act the same way. The best thing I can tell you to do is to do the same thing my friend Robert did when he first met me and just start asking questions. I thought he was crazy for it at first, because he was asking me all of these random questions about where I was from and what college I wanted to go to. We're friends now, though, so it worked. Ask questions and eventually you're bound to find something in common with someone.

  3. First u need to approach people and talk to them.

I'm sure soon u can built up friendship with them..

  4. first calm down. Just go to class normally and you will end up meeting somone in your class asking the same question. Then you will prolly sit together at lunch and then there friends will come and then bam its done. As far as the " i like your skirt" why would they wear it the first day of school if they didnt like it. Everyone is trying to make a good impression the first day
