How do you make only yourself be able to add others on facebook?

In privacy options, use the drop-down menu so only your friends can search for you - that way others can't find you at all no matter what they search under, but you can still find others & add them

You need to change your Search settings under Privacy Settings. You can use this link:

In that first drop-down menu box next to "Search Visibility," choose the option that says "Only Friends." Then make sure you click the blue Save Changes button at the bottom of the screen. Now only you can add people and no one else will be able to know you have a Facebook account.
