How do you make pictures look like this? (PLEASE READ FULL QUESTION DETAILS)

BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING.

please keep in mind that i dont care what you have to say about the jonas brothers. im simply using these pictures as examples and they were the only ones i had on hand at the moment.

SO my question is. How do you make pictures look crisp like that? Most fan-made band portraits or "vintage" myspace pictures or something have quality like that. and im not talking about the coloring (although you can make comments about that too) But again, how do you get the quality look crisp and sharp and just amazing like that? (disregarding camera)

It depends what format your saving it in, I save all mine in a PNG format and they don't look blurry when uploaded
