  1. Play-Doh

    1 cup flour

    1/2 cup salt

    2 tsp. cream of tarter (for elasticity) optional

    2 tbsp. vegetable oil

    1 cup warm water

    food coloring (optional

    1).Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. (Omit food coloring if you are planning to make multiple colors)

    2).Set burner to medium heat and stir constantly until playdough forms a ball.

    3).Remove from heat.

    4).If multiple colors are desired, divide dough and knead food coloring into each portion. Enjoy!

    • Rolling pin or narrow bottle

    Directions

    Put salt and flour in a deep unbreakable bowl. Drape your child in an old shirt or smock and allow him or her to mix the dry ingredients thoroughly with hands or a wooden spoon. Slowly add water to which some drops of food coloring have been added. Continue to mix, then knead dough until it is smooth and elastic without being sticky. Dump the dough onto a flat floured surface and roll it out with the rolling pin or bottle. Use cookie cutters to make shapes or provide child with other cutting and poking utensils such as plastic knives, bottle tops and lids, chopsticks, and assorted plastic shapes.

    1 c. peanut butter

    1 c. corn syrup

    1 ¼ c. powdered sugar

    1 ¼ c. powdered milk

    Mix all ingredients in a bowl, using your hands. Dough should feel soft and pliable. Form shapes and be creative!!

    When not using, MUST be stored in an airtight container.

    #1 - Large Container

    1 1/2 c. very warm water

    2 c. white glue

    A few drops of food coloring

    Mix this combination thoroughly

    #2 - Small Container

    1 1/3 c. very warm water

    2 level t. borax

    Mix this combination thoroughly

    Directions

    Use your hands to mix the contents of the Bowl #2 into the Bowl #1.

    Lift and turn the mixture until it is fully combined. Discard any leftover liquid.

    If kept in an airtight container, the Flubber will keep for up to 2 weeks.

    Keep the Flubber away from your carpet and hair, as it will stick! Use white vinegar as a solvent.

    This recipe makes enough Flubber for six children.
