  1. I live in Japan.  We eat sticky rice.  Wash it first and leave it in a pot with water more than 1 hour.  Keep the lid on at least 20 minutes after it cooked.  Enjoy sticky and sweet rice.

  2. Steam cook it over a pot using this wood thing.

  3. Easy Simply add Butter and sugar, not only does it taste good but now its sticky!!!!

  4. Use Sticky rice, also known as Glutinous or Sweet rice. You can get it at any Asian stores. I'm Asian too (Filipino to be precise) and I eat rice EVERY single day.

First of all, it is essential to use a rice cooker.

    All you need is:

1 metric cup (250ml) of Glutinous rice

    1-2 cups of water

    1 cup of coconut milk

    3 tablespoons of sugar

    Method:

(Don't forget to wash the rice first!)

    1. Add 1 cup of Glutinous rice into your rice cooker.

    2. Then, add 1 cup of water in.

    3. Add 1 cup of coconut milk.

    4. Add the 3 tablespoons of sugar in.

    5. Wait for 20 minutes or until the rice is puffy and sticky (Don't forget to taste the rice.).

    6. Then you're done!

When making sticky rice, make sure to pour in more water than how much water you usually put in or more than how much rice you have.

Please don't put any thumbs down for me, I got this from my mum but I didn't get much info. Please don't get mad at me if this doesn't turn out good.

    Good Luck! =)

    Always,

    Tasha

  7. ...why would you want to make it "sticky"...?   but if you do... over cook it a bit and let it sit in the water for a min or two after it's cooked, don't rinse it and don't put anything on it... then drain it and let it sit for a few minuets... you'll get a nice sticky lump of rice...  (enjoy)

  8. If you are looking for a sticky rice it's best to use more water than called for...it's usually 1cup rice to 2 cups water. if you use more water and cook the rice longer than called for it will be soft and sticky. hope this helped.

  9. I'm Asian and I eat rice almost every single day. We have a special kind of rice called sticky rice. You can buy sticky rice at an Asian supermarket and just add water and cook about 20 min. A simple way to make rice sticky is adding more water to cook than normal.

  10. Take the guesswork out of it and purchase rice that has the words "sushi" "calrose" or "glutinous" on the label and cook it according to the directions on the bag, though if you have access to a rice cooker, that would be the ideal.

  11. Dog s***n.

I know what you thinking "gross".

But it has been used in Chinese villages for centuries and it adds a unique flavor to the dish. After you get past the fact, it is delicious and nutritious. What you don't know is that a lot of the Chinese restaurants still use this method so it should taste familiar.

  12. Use a rice cooker. Minute rice will not turn out the same way.

A rice cooker must be used.

  13. well cook it first then stick it in the microwave for a couple seconds

  14. normally you can make any kind of pealed rice sticky, providing that you cook well enough, but there are certain kinds of rice that are better suited for this thing than others.  Check your local chinese store for sushi rice which is usually meant to be sticky.  for sushi they usually add a little rice vinegar and sugar to the recipe which makes the rice stick even better.

  15. buy rice marked sticky ,or sushi rice ,instructions on pack.

Thai sticky rice (also known as "sweet rice" or "glutinous rice")

is a tasty, sweet rice that does a great job of filling the stomach--but be careful not to eat too much... According to Thai tradition sticky rice can put you fast asleep if more than a couple handfuls are eaten. It is meant to be formed into small balls that you make with your fingers. Then dip it in spicy sauce and let it soak up like a sponge. See recipes below for meals served with sticky rice, you can also use the steamer to prepare fish/vegetables. Sticky rice is enjoyed throughout Thailand and Laos, and is gaining popularity as more people come to know it's unique delicous taste--see us mentioned in New York Times Style Magazine. We're currently offering a low price for a convenient 5 lb bag of Thai sticky rice, and you can purchase the essential cookware for about $20.00.

Note that Thai sticky is a particular variety of sweet rice, and you must not substitute other varieties with this method. We also offer Thai purple (black) sticky rice, and we have Thai jasmine rice.

Method: Rinse rice 2-3 times, until water runs clear. Place rinsed rice in a bowl and fill with cool water so the water is approximately 2-3 inches above the rice (see Step 1). Let the rice stand in water for 6-8 hours. Drain the rice, place it in a cheesecloth, wrap it up and put the cheesecloth inside bamboo steamer. Put 6-8 cups of water in sticky rice steamer and bring to a boil. Then place bamboo steamer inside sticky rice steamer (see step 2). Be sure the bottom of the bamboo steamer does not touch the boiling water. Place a standard 8 inch lid loosely over the top of the bamboo steamer (see Step 3). Steam the rice for 45 minutes (or until tender). Enjoy!

Cheesecloth: Many stores carry cheesecloth but it's expensive and the pieces are long strips only 5 inches high, which doesn't work very well for sticky rice. We now offer a nice large Thai cheesecloth for sticky rice prep, it's 36" x 40" and will last for years. Hint: after sticky rice is cooked remove from cheesecloth promptly.

Step 1: soak  Step 2: wrap  Step 3: cover, steam
