How do you make ring-tones from music on your computer and send them to your phone for verizon wireless?

I have tried using www.myxer.com but can't get the files to open as music on my phone?

the only site that works for verizon is ventones, i use ventones which is a site in which you upload a song and choose 20 sec. of it, and use it as your ringtone. It is free.

Send the files as a email to your phone via (yournumber)@vzwpix.com  It charges you as a text message (FYI)  and then save the file in your phone as a ringtone.
