How do you make smoothies with an ice cream maker?

I have a cuisinart ice cream maker and it didn't have the directions in the box. We bought i tlike 5 years ago so i can't return it... please help

I have the same kind of ice cream maker.  In the recipe booklet it tells how to make slushies (like at 7-eleven), but since you don't have the book:  

Make sure the bowl is frozen.  With the machine running, pour in 2 cans of soda (not sugar free, it needs the sugar to come out right).  Let it go until it's the consistency you like.  It doesn't take as long as ice cream.  I've made them before and they came out great.

If you mix some fruit juice, sugar and pureed fruit I think you could have something like a smoothie.  Maybe add some yogurt too.  

Try to invest in a blender if you like smoothies, that's the best way.

You cannot make smoothies in an ice cream maker, it has to be a blender.  A little fruit, a little yogurt, possibly some fruit juice, ice cubes and whirl and it will be good and thick.
