Question:

How do you make store-bought cookies stale?

I prefer my Oreos and Vanilla Fingers to be a little stale so that they are soft. I know, most people hate them this way, but it is how I like them. Yum! I have tried leaving them out to sit in the open air but it takes too long. Plus, it attracts ants and bugs. Is there an easy way to make them stale in a closed container?

  1. If you put them in a closed container it keeps the air out, so I am sorry but the only way to do it is leave them (put them on a plate in the cupboard so the beasties cannot get them) and you know what, Good things come to those who wait.

  2. put them in the fridge. or put them in the freezer, then when they thaw it will be like they're stale.

  3. There is a way and this works, put the cookies in an air tight container with a slice of fresh white bread.  Next day they will be soft, this works with any cookie that has been over baked also.

  4. My ex-husband only liked stale Fig Newtons:)  Open the package and put it in the refrigerator overnight....

  5. no you have to let some air in

poke small hole in package or dont close all the way
