How do you make sure you are raised right as a human being?

That's a strange question. You can't affect how you are raised too heavily.

The only rule of thumb I follow is "Don't leave a footprint"

I never litter, I try to not be a burden on my friends and family.

Such as trying to persuade your family to not buy/do something if they can't really afford it.
