Whenever I type ... it squishes into one, so then when I copy and paste it somewhere it doesn't show up. How do I turn that off?

  1. I believe you can go to Format (it might be another one) >> AutoCorrect, and this will open a window where you can choose all sorts of settings.  I'm not able to check right now (on a Linux computer), and just look through the settings and change one of them to either not search for special characters.  One of them should be in there though.

  2. You can do this by defining an Auto Correction entry.  Here's how in Word versions prior to Word Vista (which probably has something similar):

    1. Click the Tools->Auto Correct Options menu item.

    2. In the Replace text box, enter three consecutive periods.

    3. In the With text box, also enter three periods

    4. Click the Add or Replace button (not sure which will come up on your machine).

    5. Click OK.

Now, whenever you enter three consecutive periods, you'll get three consecutive periods.

    Hope that helps.
