How do you make the inside of your car smell good?

Theres some problem with my car interior, it smells stale when not running. The car freshners which i have seen are somehow too strong and make me feel nauseous

A. between friends, family and such, find someone that as a Sharper Image Ionic Breeze air cleaner. Place this in the car over night w/ the windows up on high. The next day leave the windows down to drive or sit as the car will smell like an indoor swimming pool. After that, be neutral as the smells will have been ionized.

B. if you cannot find one of these, call around to detail shops and ask if they have an ionizer machine. Should look like a rectangle wood box about a foot across. Theirs will be about 20 times more powerful than the Sharper Image one. Few hours and it will smell just as clean. This is what we in the business to remove hard smell, even dead people smell sad to say.

C. fabreeze, lysol, baking soda, etc will not work but only mask the problem. The smell is in the material which is everywhere. The only way to clean all at once and to deep clean is an ionizer. So save your money on all the chemicals. As most just attract dirt anyways.

my boyfriends mom uses this glade thing. its small and attatches to the AC vents. its not strong, but smells so good everytime i go in their car, even after its been off for 8 hours

Hi, If you are in India, there is a one time cure but it is bit tedious and will take about 6 Hrs. Which i have done and worked well for me.

You car must be having dampness in its carpet and seat cushion. What you have to do is remove the seat cover and the seat from the car and dry it in the sun. Next remove the carpet from your car and dry it upside down, since most of the dampness in the bottom portion of the carpet. now you will just have skeleton inside. Blow dry using you vacuum cleaner in you chassis and side the car. also remove the spare tire and check if there is water in the boot below the tire, some times in car wash it accumulates water. remove the boot mat and blow dry the boot. and keep all the doors open for about 4 to 5 hrs. Now buy some lemon based room freshener and use it very mildly on the seat. of your car. Now once all dried up you can fit back everything.

Now your car should smell better. Try to do this once in a year.

Clean the Interiors and if u r not using it for a long time then keep 2mm on gap open in window for ventilation., the nauseous smell will cease to exist

well start out by cleaning and vaccuuming ur car, then get some carpet fresh powder and sprinkle it on ur carpet and vaccuum it up, then use fabric cleaner to spray ur seats, then hang an air freshener on ur rear view mirror. But u want to make sure all the scents u use go together.
