My tv is plugged into my stereo, but the sbuilt-in speakers still play. This is annoying so I how do I make it stop while the stereo still works, short of just putting the tv's volume low and amplifying oit with the stereo, cuz that makes a buzz and some distortion.

-thx

  1. TVGUY pretty much has it, just a little extra to add. Make sure the RCA output is line level and not speaker level...This will still work, but you can over drive the input of the stereo and destroy the input possibly. If it is speaker level then just make sure to keep the level low and like TVGUY said, you can most likely turn the internal speaker off in the TV set.

    Good luck

  2. Simple, You use the RCA out on the tv to provide a signal to your stero, And the next part is real easy, TURN DOWN THE VOLUME ON YOUR TV. Hope it helped Good luck

  3. Most TVs with audio out have an option to turn the TV's speakers off. Look under the Menu -> Audio (or Settings) options of your TV.
