  1. Here is an easy to follow, simple tutorial I created for use with the completely free program Gimp 2.4.6 to create an image with black, white, and color:

    Get the Gimp at: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.h...

  2. online:

    you can use http://www.picnik.com

    * upload image

    * click the "create" tab

    * click "black and white"

    * "paint" the colored area you want

  3. I love that effect! Photoshop is definitely the answer as the gentleman above me explained but newer small point and shoot Canon cameras also have a similar color effect where you can choose one color such as blue and everything but blue will be B&W. Not as cool, but if you are in the market and don't like photoshop it's a possibility!

  4. Pop your image into photoshop, get the magnetic lasso and roughly outline the area you want to be in color then hit q then erase and fine tune the edges. then right click and go layer via copy, go back to the original layer and hit image>>  mode >> adjustment  >> grayscale and your done!
