How do you make things float in forge on Halo 3?

I have been trying anything to get the walls to float and stay and i have seen my friends levels and they have things off the edge. How do they do that???

  1. I know you can stack things up (like boxes), and then delete things on the bottom. They don't fall that way.


  2. Depends on the map...

    On any map, you can just stack other objects on top of each other, place the object you wanted to float on top of them, wait until it settles (stops moving), then delete the objects under it.  You'll probably have to place weapon holders or teleporter nodes under or to the sides of the object to hold it in place.

    On Foundry it's different.  Most objects are immovable by default, so the quickest, and easiest way I find to do this is to hold the object where you want it to float, save the map WHILE YOU'RE STILL HOLDING THE OBJECT (it's amazing how many people just drop the object before saving the map), end the game, and restart.  The object should be floating where you left it.

    There's a great community called Forgehub that makes maps like these all the time, and they've discovered many other forging techniques like interlocking objects.  They have a lot of helpful info for beginning forgers there!
