  1. its all about your positioning to the net. im a setter myself and it helps when i look at the net before i actually set the ball. i look right where i want it to go. aim high and it goes usually where i want it to!!! i hope that helps you out. be positioned me towards the net!

  2. It is all about quickness and control of your body. More practice will make you feel more confident taking care of those sets that have to be done very close to the net.

You can do jump set if the pass is "curve-dropping" into/over the net, knuckle bump if you can beat it to the net, or wait till the ball gets "bounced" from the net before you do under handed set (you could also knee down and manage over-handed set off the net). One hand tip-set is allowed in most games as well.

  3. WHEN YOU SET YOU TAKE A STEP WITH YOUR FOOT CLOSEST TO THE NET AND SET IT...ALSO YOU MAY WANT TO BUT YOUR HAND FARTHEST AWAY FROM THE NET A SLIGHT BIT HIGHER SO THAT THE BALL WILL GO A LITTLE BIT TIGHTER TO THE NET

  4. when the ball comes over the net, and the passer is about to pass the ball to you, turn your body (your belly button for example) to your hitter, then when the ball comes to you, you just need to turn your head, because you are aimed the right way, that is the way your set will go, closer to the net, and not away from it because oyu dont have to turn your body.

  5. To make your sets close to the net face the spot you want to set and push it out there.  It will seem hard at first but keep practicing.  Also, it helps if you are closer to the net instead of farther out from the net.  Don't try to set the hitter set the spot where the hitter is supposed to be.

  6. Face where you want it! Make sure that you are square to the target! Dont twist your body!
