  1. 1.  It is pretty simple, grab the bird (gently) and take him out of his cage.

    2. Take him to a part of the house away from his cage.

    3.  Train him to go on your finger but swithing hands, the right finger then the left finger, etc, etc.  (only takes a few minutes for most keets.

    4.  The bird must be comfortable with the finger command to get out of his cage easily.

    5.  Keep him out for a while and let him get used to you, put him on your shoulder, and then your head, and allow him to realize that every part of you is safe.

    6.  Within a day or two, he will gladly come on your finger to get out of the cage.

    7.  Within a week, the bird will be begging to come out of the cage because birds love the attention.

  2. I would recommend getting some millet spray and holding it in front of the budgie. It will begin to trust you more and then if you hold it out in the future and put it by the trap door it comes out it will come out.

    Hope This Helps

  3. It takes a lot of time and patience, I would try treats and maybe toys. He has to learn to trust you first.

  4. you should put your hand in the cage and rub its body, It should get used to you then you make it come on your finger(push against its stomach and then you either make it hop on your finger and take it out of the cage or you act like you are going to pet it but then you will grab it and take it out of its cage, after the first time you take it out of its cage it will get used to you and will want to come out when you put your hand in the cage.this proccess takes about 3-4 weeks. good luck!

  5. start out by just petting the bird by rubbing its stomach with your index finger. if it runs away, just keep your hand in there really still. this will get the bird used to the idea of hands. do NOT make any fast motions, it will scare the bird. then, try treats. but not too much, becuz then the bird will associate the hand with food. you only want to do that once in a while. and when the bird does step on your finger, hold it inside the cage. that way if it gets uncomfortable, it can just step back down. at that point, leave the bird alone for a bit.

  6. When I was a teenager I wanted to train my parakeet to come out of its cage and sit on my finger.  So I withdrew its seed tray from its cage and waited about an hour or two then put some seed in the middle of my hand and put the hand in the cage in front of the parakeet keeping my fingers still so not to alarm the bird.  The parakeet walked on my hand and began eating the seed.  After I did this three or four times the bird became familiar with procedure and would call to me to feed him in the same manner.  After he was comfortable with the hand in the cage I slowly withdrew my hand with him on it and the bird became familiar with my finger and would let me carry him around my home.  Just be very careful not to have any windows or doors open when the bird is out of its cage!  Good luck!!!
