Question:

How do you make your eyes really pop if they are a slightly boring color?

I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. I've always thought that I looked kind of boring since the colors are so plain. Since I'm still fairly young, I only use a tiny bit of makeup. I use a great moisturizer, and a little liquid black eyeliner. Sometimes I'll wear eyeshadow-usually a darker color. And I never really wear mascara since my lashes are already pretty long and curled (a bit). I don't wear foundation or coverup because my skin really isn't flawed.

I have-for a lack of a better word- "scene" hair, and i'm going for that type of makeup style but nothing really extreme.

Please don't say that younger girls shouldn't wear makeup and such, I already wear it and i'm not going to stop just because a few people over the internet tell me not to.

And I wash it off every night that I do use it. I don't wear makeup too much. Only for school and when i'm going out (not just a trip to the grocery store or anything but as in going to the mall, movies, etc etc.)

So please just give advice on the question, not that I shouldn't wear it. Thanks!

  1. I love gold eyeshadow it makes eyes really pop and plays off the warmer tones of brown eyes.

  2. use a black or gray eyeliner on your top lid below your lash line

apply a small bit of mascara and curl your eyelashes a little they should stand out more

  3. You should find a color of eyeshadow that really flatters your eyes most shades that do that for peoples eyes are normally lighter more dull tone shades..but then take a color you like alot and mix it in a way..if the color you like alot is darker that the color that flatters your eyes put the darker color on first on your actual lid..then take the other color and sorta fade it in towards the top of your lid..maybe do a small design with your eyeshadow on your eyes..you can even put a light shimmery eyeshadow on the top part about your eyelid that goes up to your eyebrow..although liquid liner is easier to use..go for a dark black pencil liner..it gives more definition..if you have smaller eyes that are more opal shaped do a thicker line of bottom eyelid eyeliner..and if you have dark more poppy eyes..do a thinner line..that goes close the inner corner or your eyes

  4. I also have dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, and long, curled eyelashes, so I know where you're coming from.  I also never used to wear mascara because of my long dark lashes, but just think of how much longer, darker, and thicker they'll look with just a little bit of mascara.  You've got 'em, so flaunt 'em!  Even if you don't have any color on your eyelids, a single coat of mascara really opens up your eyes.  Also, purples are good colors to complement brown eyes, and can be very subtle at the same time.

(Another thing I did that I noticed brought out my eyes a bit more was dying my hair natural black.  It's a commitment, though.)

  5. smile more that will lighten your whole face up

  6. Well mascara does help, I have thick long lashes as well I use clear mascara, it opens up your eyes more. You could try purple, grey, any types of browns or golds, even a dark green for eyeshadows and liners, depending on your skin tone. blue mascara makes the white of eyes brighter. You have years to perfect it, work with it, and see what looks best. Practice makes perfect!

  7. You need to wear mascara, that will really help your eyes pop. Try fun colors that are still "scene" like lining your lower water line with navy blue. Green would be fun too......

  8. I don't know why you think your eyes are boring.  You can wear so many different colors and even go without any makeup at all on your eyes.  If you really want your eyes to pop, wear blues and greens.  Not extreme or metallics, just some subtle color near your lash line.

You can wear some cream or light gold/bronze colors too.  Or both. Wear the cream color near your nose and extend it to the inner corners of your eyes.  Then you can lightly line your bottom lash line and use a white pencil to line the inner rim of the bottom.  This looks fantastic and is amazing how much it makes your eyes pop.
