  1. Unfortunately No, using hot combs, pressing tools, or any heat for that matter will not help your hair grow. In fact, it actually makes it more difficult for African American hair to grow. Black hair or coarser, more textured hair is dry so it needs moisture, oil, a hairstyle that protects the fragile ends of our hair, consitency, and a little bit of love. Heat only makes our hair drier and causes split ends. Then you're forced to cut it and this is why it will seem as though your hair always stays short and never grows. Natural-Kinky-curly hair can grow. I have been able to grow very long hair by following these basic rules. To learn more visit!
