How do you make your hamster fall in love?

I have been putting my hamsters together for about 5 days now, and my hamster still hasn't become pregnant? What should I do?

Female hamsters go into heat every four days. "Heat" means that she is able to get pregnant.

It may not be immediately apparent that she is pregnant...I couldn't tell with mine until she had already been pregnant for a week. Then one day she just gave birth. I have pics of the babies here:

So be patient. Hamsters only have a 2 week gestation period. So the time between impregnation and birth is only two weeks...very quick.

Make sure the hamsters are the same breed. Different breeds will not mate with each other (except for Winter Whites and Campbells hamsters). Even if they are the same breed, it is always possible the female is either sterile or just doesn't like the male.
