  1. Do you take your vitamins? Cos mine always used to break, but then I started taking a multivit and mineral and after a couple of months my nails started to grow really well.

Sweet almond oil is sposed to strengthen them when rubbed in too.

  2. wear clear enamel nail polish always

  3. run under cold water for 7 minutes then dry. hope you like it

  4. You lack iron or caesium in your diet, drink LOADS of milk stuff and your nails will be really strong, oh & don`t put them in water for too long because they get soggy and snap.

  5. Why not try using nail polish remover with conditioners. Even cheap ones with conditions and vitamins work. Wipe Cotton Wool with the nail polish remover on over your nails. Leave on for around 10 mins then wash off. Hope it helps (:

  6. While I was taking prenatal vitamins my nails grew very fast and grew stronger than usual, so a good multivitamin should help. Also, moisturize your hands and nails frequently, which seems to prevent dry cracked cuticles ;-)

  7. Take vitamins, I believe vitamin D. My mom has been eating 1 vitamin 1 time a day, for almost 30 years! And guess what? Her nails are long beautiful and rarely break.

  8. many nail polishes and removers have some strengthening stuff in it.

it should say it on the bottle

  9. Start taking a vitamin...I started using one called "hair skin and nails" from the drugstore...the brand I believe is "nature's Bounty" and it's about $9.00.  I've been taking it a little over a week and my nails improved dramatically, my skin has a nicer feel and complexion, but it hasn't affected my hair yet.

Also try some kind of nail growth treatment that you paint on. Sally Hansen got good ones...

And WEAR GLOVES!!!  Nothing is worse for your nails than getting cleaning products all over them or washing dishes...Oh, try to keep them filed so the nail is straight across. Otherwise it'll get caught and torn.  K Hope it works out for you...and remember if I could get my nails to grow, *anyone* can!!! :)

  10. you can buy some nail hardener that really does work that can be purchased from avon and   boots and shops like that

  11. sally hansen makes nail strengthener...

It doesn't cost that much, and its totally worth it.

  12. go buy vitamin nail polish stuff for them, i did and it works incredibly. they got so much stonger in like 2 days

  13. eat squares of jelly.

this is an old wives tale so it could be true!

I found that as soon as nails start to grow, i shape them with an emery board and this seems to prevent vthem from breaking.

  14. Well if you do dishes, clean and always have your hands in water with out gloves, dont expect to have nice nails OR HANDS for that matter.

  15. drink milk

    eat carrots

    things with potasium i think

  16. Get Mavala nail hardener.

    I had the same problem!

  17. Sally Hansen: hard as nails.

    works (:

  18. Take Prenatal vitamins and use a nail-hardener. And don't touch them!

    It will work.

  19. It's foods rich in sulphur, such as apples, grapes, onions, cucumber and garlic. Yah, garlic!

Also, they do vitamins that are specific for great hair, nails and skin. You will find them in Holland & Barretts.

Then you'll have the strongest nails on the block! ;-)

  20. I know the feeling.

My mom works at in natural living (vitamins) and there's a product/mineral or something called 'Biotin'

I'm pretty sure you can get it at any health food store or vitamin retailer.

It makes your hair shinier & your skin smoother as well as making your teeth, bones & nails strong!

  21. maybe that just isn't the type of nails you have. get acrylics... or look at the local drug store for things to use on your nails to make them stronger.

& don't bite your nails.. although you probably dont.. just don't, haha

  22. I agree with some of the other answers you've already gotten.  I find that if I wear some kind of nail polish, clear or otherwise, my nails don't break as much.  I'm not sure if I'm just more careful or if it actually does make them stronger (probably a little of both).
