How do you make your own apartment on sims 2 apartment life ?

I have the same problem.

put down a empty lot, put the cheat in.

Ctrl + Shift + C    changelotzoning apartment

but I'm not 100% sure.

Or put down a built apartment, go into build mode and destroy it, and rebuild??? don't know. hope you get better answers.

The creators should make a video or put steps in how to make hotels and apartments, or its not a great game if we don't know how.
